Institute of Internal Auditors Barbados Chapter
Krystle Howell is an Internal Audit Manager within Sagicor Life Inc with qualifications as a Chartered Professional Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor and holds an Associate with the Life Management Institute. She currently serves as the Secretary and past Governor for the Institute of Internal Auditors Barbados Chapter, where she has also been a Training Facilitator for the topic of COSO 2013: Understanding the Framework.
Krystle has spent five years with Sagicor and seven years with Ernst and Young where she served as a Knowledge Concierge, Global Audit Methodology Champion and Learning Administrator for various levels from new staff to Partner. The past twelve years in internal and external audit has gained her valuable experience within several industries including insurance, retail and manufacturing, agriculture, hotel industry, and many others.
Krystle has recently been the driving force behind social media awareness concerning key issues related to the Auditor General’s report, as well as a breakdown of several hot topics with expert guest speakers and government Ministers including but not limited to:
- The Barbados Ratings and their Impact,
- The Barbados Budget and Estimates,
- Understanding Hedging,
- International Business in Barbados.
Krystle has also co-hosted a talk show series in conjunction with known Economist Jeremy Stephen entitled: “Talking to Our Leaders”, which featured representatives from major political parties including the Honorable Minister Donville Inniss, Dale Marshall, Ryan Straughn, Lynette Eastmond and Grenville Phillips. She has also been a guest speaker for the Rotaract Club Barbados West, Kiwanis Club of Bridgetown and has appeared on CBC’s Morning Barbados as well as the recently launched show “The Boiler Room” hosted by Adrian Green and Bajan Fari.
In her spare time, Krystle is an avid artist with a Facebook page to promote her artwork entitled Krystle’s Kreations. She is also a lover of dance, trained in Modern, Jazz, Soca, Dancehall and West African styles with the Barbados Dance Theatre and the National Cultural Foundation.
